LOS ANGELES, CA — President Donald Trump has deployed approximately 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles in response to violent escalations during protests against recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests. What began as “mostly peaceful protests” over immigration enforcement quickly turned chaotic over the weekend, prompting federal intervention.
Protests Erupt, Violence Follows
On Friday and Saturday, between 350 to 400 demonstrators gathered in downtown Los Angeles and Paramount to protest ICE raids, which resulted in 118 arrests, including five individuals allegedly linked to criminal organizations. Tensions boiled over when protesters clashed with federal agents. Authorities reported acts of violence including:

In response, law enforcement deployed tear gas, pepper spray, and flash-bang grenades to disperse the crowd. Three people were injured, including two sheriff’s deputies. A union leader was also arrested for obstruction.
President Trump Responds with National Guard Troops
On Sunday morning, National Guard troops began arriving in Los Angeles following President Trump’s directive. He utilized Title 10 authority to nationalize the California Guard, bypassing Governor Gavin Newsom — a rare federal move not seen since the Civil Rights era.
President Trump addressed the situation on Truth Social, writing:
“These Radical Left protests, by instigators and often paid troublemakers, will NOT BE TOLERATED. Also, from now on, MASKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to be worn at protests. What do these people have to hide, and why???”
The White House echoed Trump’s sentiment, criticizing local officials for not acting sooner and failing to prevent violence.
ICE Issues Strong Statement on Law Enforcement Attacks
ICE Acting Director Todd M. Lyons released a statement condemning the violent attacks on officers:
“What took place in Los Angeles yesterday was appalling. Rioters attacked federal ICE and law enforcement officers on the streets while Mayor Bass sided with chaos over public safety… Our officers were vastly outnumbered and under siege for hours.”
Lyons noted that those arrested by ICE last week include individuals with histories of assault, child abuse, domestic violence, drug trafficking, and robbery.
“ICE will continue enforcing immigration laws and arresting criminal illegal aliens. Interference by sanctuary politicians only endangers communities and law enforcement,” Lyons added.
Ongoing Federal Enforcement and Monitoring
Despite the chaos, ICE has vowed to press forward with its operations and will continue releasing updates and images related to what it has termed “anti-ICE riots.” Federal officials warn that those who assault officers or damage federal property will be prosecuted.

Peaceful protesting is one thing. Violence, whether it is the L.A. protests against ICE raids or January 6th election protesters, is another thing. Let’s tone down the rhetoric on both sides and start acting like decent human beings. This goes for the average person on the street as well as those in the various seats of power.
Typical liberals… using the “both sides” argument when they are caught in violent or criminal behavior.

None of these protesters are actually undocumented migrants. They wouldn’t be stupid enough to risk arrest. These protesters are ANTIFA and the various rent a mob.
I blame Democrat messaging for this. They have inflamed these loons. Either we have immigration rules or we don’t.
