New Jersey’s elderly and disabled paid the sixth-highest amount in the nation for nursing home care last year, although the state ranked in the middle as far as availability and quality of service, a survey released today said. (Livio/The Star Ledger)
Yet more fun for NJ private sector retirees to look forward to in addition to our second highest state and local property taxes in the nation, and our dead last rank in terms of state finances with over $84bn in unfunded liabilities for risk-free state pensions and heavily subsidized full coverage healthcare which we’ve promised to pay for…. Not to worry if you’re a public sector retiree, the firemen pay for their own retirement home in Boonton which is actually really nice, and I’m sure the rest of us will pay for everyone else on the public’s tab.
