Trenton NJ, the word is that Governor Phil Murphy plans to lift New Jersey’s indoor mask mandate in public places for vaccinated people prior to Memorial Day weekend, a government source who was briefed on the decision said Friday.

New Jersey had been one of only two states, along with Hawaii, that had not set a date for lifting the mandate despite key COVID-19 metrics like hospitalizations plummeting for more than a month. The governors critics have blasted him for not following the “science”.

The confirmation by the government source follows several  reports Friday that Murphy intends to make an announcement on the mandate on Monday. The Official Governor Phil Murphy has a tag line titled , MASK REQUIREMENT IN OUTDOOR PUBLIC SPACES ELIMINATED which gives you and error message as of Sunday afternoon if you click on it .
