TOMS RIVER NJ, hopefully PBA’s across the state will realize they have no friends in the Democratic Party . David Richter, the Republican nominee for Congress in New Jersey’s Third District, announced today that he has received the endorsement of the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA), the state’s largest union representing law enforcement officers.
“At a time when it has become fashionable in DC to attack police officers and to weaken public safety, David has demonstrated to us that he will stand up for our members and stand out in DC as a voice for true justice for all,” said PBA President Patrick Colligan.
“I would like to thank the New Jersey State PBA for their endorsement! While Democrats are calling to defund the very men and women who keep our communities safe, our campaign has chosen to stand beside them and make our support for men and women in blue very clear,” said Richter. “As your next congressman, I will always defend our law enforcement community and that starts by protecting qualified immunity which ensures that criminals cannot sue cops simply for doing their job,” Richter added.
Richter is the former CEO of global construction management firm Hill International. During his time at the company, Hill grew from a struggling family business with less than 300 employees into a successful public company with more than 4,300 employees. A lifelong Republican, Richter grew up in and has spent most of his life living and working in the Third District. He earned two bachelor’s degrees and a law degree from Penn as well as master’s degrees from Oxford and Harvard. Richter and his wife Michelle, who have been married for 20 years, are the parents of four teenage daughters.

This is hardly surprising when you consider how the Democrats evolved from the party of mostly the blue-collar working class to its new umbrella of radicals, angry vegans, misfits, slackers, vandals, sexually ambiguous, and anyone else who doesn’t believe in proven economics.
Actually the police are now amongst the wealthiest residents and households in NJ.
while I think there a very large package of pay an benefits , they are hardly among the wealthiest even with the accelerated fleeing out of NJ by rich and poor alike
Yes, look at average household incomes in NJ and compare a cop salary & benefits to that.
Out of pocket on healthcare is very low and 95% of out of pocket health expenses are covered under their platinum plans.
Add in the present day value of their defined benefit pensions which can be collected after 25 years of service (avg PFRS retirement age 52) and the one-time payout on unisex sick leave at retirement (which can run above $100,000 in Ridgewood) and police families are amongst the wealthiest households in NJ.
They are not blue collar, that’s a myth.
no were near the wealthiest residents
NJ cops have done well so far. No major riots in the state. And while their comp is impressive compared to private sector employees, the fact is that all public union employees enjoy 20th century style benefits. And unlike teachers and state bureaucrats, cops actually have a dangerous job. Not every town is as accidents free as Ridgewood.
Top 5% easily

Add in their platinum healthcare benefits, full defined benefit pensions after “special retirement” at 25 years of service, not to mention three figure payouts on unused sick leave at retirement (avg retirement age 52)… cops are way above median household incomes in NJ.
