Hoboken NJ, On Sunday, March 19th, NJ TRANSIT Police Officers, Port Authority Police Department, and Hoboken Fire Department responded to an active fire at the Hoboken Bus Terminal. NJTPD Officers moved all commuters and non-essential personnel to safety and the fire was extinguished without injury. Surveillance footage captured the incident and the suspect believed responsible for intentionally causing the fire.

With the fire extinguished, NJTPD Officers continued to maintain an alert presence. Subsequently, Officer Paternostro and Officer Ventura spotted the suspect who had returned to the scene. He was apprehended.
This incident saw a coordinated effort by NJTPD District 3 Officers led by Sergeant Dulmer and Sergeant Emmolo. Additional officers involved included Officer Zavistoski, Officer Clark, and Officer Ristovski. Our sincere thanks to the Hoboken Fire Department which quickly extinguished the fire and therefore safeguarded lives of commuters and property. We also thank the Port Authority Police Department which assisted as well.
