Wayne NJ, the New Jersey Transit Police Department’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM), together with additional law enforcement and emergency response partners, conducted a training exercise on Saturday, November 20th at the Wayne Route 23 Transit Center. The exercise began around 9 am and continued for approximately 3 hours.
The emergency drill will gauge responses to a simulated transportation incident. During this drill, New Jersey Transit Police and additional first responders handled realistic emergency response scenarios. Emergency drills help to test response capabilities and strengthen working relationships needed during a real emergency.

As part of our emergency preparedness efforts, the New Jersey Transit Police Department regularly conducts multiple drills and exercises throughout the state in collaboration with our local partners. This includes the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, Wayne Fire Department, Wayne Police Department, Wayne EMS, Wayne OEM, Passaic County Sheriff’s Department, NJ TRANSIT Rail Operations, NJ TRANSIT Bus Operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration. The NJTPD Office of Emergency Management (OEM) played an integral role in conducting today’s drill.
These realistic emergency drills serve to increase the safety of our first responders, local communities, and the entire NJ TRANSIT system.
