New Jersey Transit Police Officers Apprehend Man Wanted in Connection with Attempted Murder

Newark NJ, on Monday, September 9, 2024, New Jersey Transit Police Officers in District 2 apprehended a man who was wanted by the US Virgin Islands Police Department Virgin Islands Police Department .
The US Virgin Islands Police Department had previously distributed a flyer that provided a picture of the man. The flyer also listed multiple serious charges including attempted murder first-degree, assault first-degree, attempted robbery first-degree, possession / use of a firearm during a crime of violence, willful discharge, aiming of a firearm, and reckless endangerment first-degree.

By utilizing the Newark Penn Station security cameras, the officers observed a man who matched the wanted flyer. Multiple plain clothes New Jersey Transit Police officers converged on the man’s location. They were followed by uniformed NJTPD officers. Together, the officers stopped the man, confirmed he was indeed the wanted subject, and apprehended him without incident.
A great job by all District 2 officers including Captain John Hennessy, Lieutenant Dennis Dulmer, Sergeants Daniel Mazza and Kelsey Russell, Officers Nathalie Cook, Petra Krajnak, Edison Campo, and Anti-Crime Officers Eric Raps and Antonio Melendez.
Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
