Randolph NJ, State officials have announced a major disciplinary action against Dr. Jonathan Fellus, a Randolph-based neurologist, after allegations surfaced that he systematically evaded safeguards meant to protect female patients.

On February 6, 2026, Acting Attorney General Jennifer Davenport confirmed that Fellus’s medical license has been suspended while the State seeks a permanent revocation. The suspension comes after investigators discovered Fellus allegedly ignored a 2018 court order requiring a third-party chaperone to be present during his examinations of women.

The Allegations: Contempt and Deception

Dr. Fellus, who operates Advanced Neurocare in Randolph, was under strict license restrictions following a 2014 revocation for a sexual relationship with a cognitively impaired patient. His license was reinstated in 2018, but only under the condition that he never see female patients alone.

According to the State’s complaint, Fellus didn’t just ignore these rules—he allegedly tried to hide his actions:

  • Falsified Records: Fellus allegedly claimed he was treating female patients at an unrestricted location in New York to explain the absence of chaperone logs.

  • Witness Tampering: Investigators say Fellus contacted female patients directly, discouraging them from cooperating with the Board of Medical Examiners’ investigation.

  • Unauthorized Directorship: Fellus allegedly served as Medical Director for Complete Wellness Spa and other facilities in violation of his practice limits.

“This doctor’s alleged conduct… demonstrates an utter contempt for the Board’s authority and a disregard for patient safety that will not be tolerated,” said Jeremy E. Hollander, Acting Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs.

History of Misconduct

This is not the first time Dr. Fellus has faced serious legal consequences. In 2014, his license was revoked after he admitted to a sexual affair with a 33-year-old patient suffering from a traumatic brain injury. That case resulted in a $3.2 million jury verdict against him in 2017 ($1.5M in compensatory and $1.7M in punitive damages).

Despite these past incidents, the 2026 suspension marks the State’s final effort to permanently bar Fellus from the medical profession in New Jersey.

What the Suspension Means for Current Patients

Effective immediately, Dr. Jonathan Fellus is prohibited from:

  1. Treating Patients: He cannot treat New Jersey residents at any location, including out-of-state offices.

  2. Medical Directorships: He is barred from acting as a medical director for any medical practice or “wellness spa.”

  3. Collecting Fees: He is prohibited from charging or receiving fees for professional services rendered after February 4, 2026.

If you were a patient at Advanced Neurocare in Randolph or a Complete Wellness Spa location, you are advised to seek a new provider immediately for continued care.
