Trenton NJ, Democrat Mikie Sherrill is the Governor-elect of New Jersey, securing a decisive victory over Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli in a highly anticipated contest. The race was called swiftly after polls closed on Election Day, November 4, 2025, with major outlets like NBC News and Decision Desk confirming her win.

This victory ensures the Democratic Party retains control of the Governor’s office for a third consecutive term—a feat not accomplished by either party in New Jersey since 1970.

The Numbers Tell the Story (Vote Totals)

According to unofficial results with 95% of votes counted, Sherrill secured a commanding lead:

Candidate Party Votes (Approx.) Percentage
Mikie Sherrill (Winner) Democrat 1,177,929 56.2%
Jack Ciattarelli Republican 876,351 43.2%

The victory confirms Dale Caldwell, President of Centenary University, as the state’s next Lieutenant Governor.

    1. But they didn’t stay, as we won’t, and it’s time for all like-minded folks to do the same. Time to tribe up, blue vs. red, and let the chips fall where they may. Let the blues stay, pay, enjoy the giveaways and crappy roads, while the reds prosper and thrive. Meh.

  2. Although yesterday’s D wins were in predictable blue areas, I truly worry about the future of this country. This promise of free stuff to win elections is simply unsustainable.

  3. NJ is doomed. The D platform “Free Stuff” and “We hate Trump” I wonder how long that will work?
