NJ Transit Bosses Get Big Raises

Ridgewood NJ, As the third largest transit system in the country, New jersey Transit has pledged to improve the customer experience. According to their website that means they must continually invest in people, infrastructure and communications.

Commuters note a mixed bag of results .While train service continues to have Penn Station ,and 100 year old tunnel issues ,bus service has also had it own problems with construction on 495 and problems on the Hudson crossings.

Claiming that during the last 18 months, NJ TRANSIT has made considerable progress in fulfilling mandatory safety requirements, significant investments in a modern fleet, improving communications with the addition of push notifications of service alerts through the NJ TRANSIT mobile app and an aggressive recruiting effort that has yielded more than 500 new bus operators and six concurrent locomotive engineer training classes underway – four of which are scheduled to graduate in 2019.

NJ TRANSIT, says their objective is to create a consistently reliable system that will meet the needs of every customer. It means communicating timely and accurately when an issue occurs and offering reasonable alternatives whenever possible. It means working to ensure that the nearly 270 million passenger trips provided each year perform to your expectations.

North Jersey media reported that top officials at NJ Transit received raises despite customers continuing to experience delays, cancellations and poor service.

According to NJ Transit Customer satisfaction surveys the agency received a score of 67%, the lowest it’s been since 2011.Cancelled trains for equipment issues or engineer availability, non-existent air conditioning on older trains and buses, continue to plague the customer experience this summer.

  2. the trains are filthy, who wants to get in them to even see if they run on schedule and the Ridgewood tunnel is equally as creepy
