The accident occurred on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at approximately 10:49 a.m. According to NJ Transit officials, Port Jervis Line train 74—which had departed Port Jervis at 8:57 a.m. and was bound for Hoboken—struck an adult female just west of the Main Street crossing near the main Ramsey station.
Authorities have identified the victim as an adult female trespasser. Unfortunately, the injuries sustained were fatal.
