Fair Lawn NJ, an apparent telephone hoax in which two (2) pipe bombs were reported to have been left inside of a synagogue located on Saddle River Road in Fair Lawn resulted in a massive response by emergency personnel from multiple agencies on Thursday evening, 09/14. All occupants of the synagogue were quickly evacuated as were residents from several nearby homes. A residential street facing the house of worship was cleared of all parked vehicles, and a loudspeaker announcement warned residents to stay inside of their homes or leave the area. An “all clear” signal was broadcast within 90 minutes of the bogus telephone call after a physical search produced negative results.
