
Ocean County Wildfire Forces Thousands to Evacuate, Burns Over 8,500 Acres

Ocean County, New Jersey, has rapidly spread, burning 8,500 acres and forcing the evacuation of 3,000 residents. Dubbed the “Jones Wildfire,” the blaze began around 12:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Forest Wildlife Management Area in Barnegat Township and quickly extended into Lacey Township and Ocean Township.
