“Jaws of Life” Used to Extricate Passenger after Monday afternoon Crash in Hawthorne

Hawthorne NJ, a three (3) vehicle, Monday afternoon, 03/29, crash at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Utter Avenue in Hawthorne required Hawthorne firefighters to deploy the “Jaws of Life” to extricate an adult female passenger from a Kia SUV that was broadsided in the collision. Once extricated, the victim was attended to on the scene by a EMT/Paramedic team from The Valley Hospital before being transported to a hospital by ambulance. The adult male driver of a Jeep sustained a minor hand injury but refused medical aid. No injuries were reported by occupants of the third vehicle involved, a Mercedes sedan. All three (3) vehicles were removed from the crash site by tow trucks. Glen Rock Police assisted Hawthorne Police with traffic control.
