Sen. Rand Paul: Hillary Clinton not ‘fit to lead the country’
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said Hillary Clinton is not “fit to lead the country” Friday, mocking the former secretary of state’s comments about her wealth and condemning her response to the September 2012 attack on a U.S. facility in Benghazi. (Miller/CBS News)
Marco Rubio made the single best argument against Hillary Clinton’s presidential prospects today
Ok, he didn’t say exactly that. In an interview with NPR’s “Morning Edition”, Rubio said that Clinton is “a 20th century candidate” who “does not offer an agenda for moving America forward in the 21st century, at least not up till now.” (Cillizza/The Washington Post)

While 1200 showed up for Hillary Clinton others in town were not so convinced
Reader says … 1200 people who are clueless. They spend too much time on social media and watching msnbc. Hillary Clinton has not accomplished anything in her public life for the public good. She has only enriched herself and her posse at the expense of the American Taxpayer. Wake up! American is in serious decline. We need a serious person as candidate for the next President. Not a Social Organizer or Political Operative.
Readers says …Do you know who DOESN’T think she’s so great? Ambassador Stevens, Glen Doherty, Ty Woods and Sean Smith. Also unavailable for comment were Vince Foster, and chairman of the Watergate Commission. The woman is a fraud, a phony and represents everything vile and despicable about the state of politics in this country. Congrats Mr Mayor, you idolize a woman who LIED to the families of 4 dead Americans while standing in front of their caskets.
Rita says …Hillary:
*1% elitist complains about the 1% making too much money *vilified women who complained about the sexual abuse from Bill (which in time all turned out to be true) – great helper of women’s rights..instead she blamed the victims *defended a rapist who she believed to be guilty and laughed about it *moved into NY for the progressive vote to go to Congress – accomplished little to nothing *settled for secy of state from Obama – accomplished nothing except the death of embassy personnel and covered up and lied to the families over the coffins as they came home *Watergate – fraudulent brief filed; committee general counsel FIRED her *Whitewater – land deal went wrong; other people’s accounts used to pay off her and Bill’s debts; Vince Foster suicide?? *Lied that she was being fired upon in Bosnia; video came out and showed she was leisurely walking and never in danger *said Chelsea was near the WTC when it was bombed; Chelsea later refuted that *took furniture out of the WH after Bill’s term was up;had to return the furniture *claims and complains they were dead broke due to legal fees…..(defending BIll’s purjury) so they had a hard time getting HO– USES (plural) but gets multi thousands for speaking engagements
And this behavior is to be valued??? Why do you glorify people who lie and steal from you – don’t enable them! Wake up people, wake up!
Bill says …Um….. she married Bill Clinton? wrote a book about her hard choices like what to do after he cheated on her? She had a baby girl? She couldn’t decide how to spin an al-Qaeda terrorist attack in Benghazi so that it would not hurt Obama’s chances of reelection (oh wait that is not an accomplishment, but she did do it).
Reader says …Hillary Clinton accepted the consolation prize of Secretary of State from Obama. She then commence a world tour on the taxpayer’s dime. She traveled over 1 million miles in 4 years with her entourage, security etc. and accomplished NOTHING. How much did that fiasco cost? She is useless.

RIDGEWOOD — Most of those who turned out to meet former Secretary of State and first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton at her book signing at Bookends on Thursday afternoon left absolutely starstruck.
Some were petrified, remaining dead silent but smiling as they shook the hand of the woman who is widely expected to be a 2016 presidential candidate.
Others let their nerves get the better of them, and they’d end up blurting out strings of compliments and niceties, producing a wide and gracious smile across Clinton’s face as she continued signing books.
A few of the 1,200 from across North Jersey who turned out for Thursday’s book signing in Ridgewood left in tears, deeply inspired by the woman they’re hoping they get the chance to vote for in little more than two years’ time.
“She was so sweet,” offered Debra DiPrima of Fair Lawn, clutching a copy of Clinton’s new tome “Hard Choices.” “She’s an inspiration because she’s a strong, very poised woman. I told her that we all want her to run for president, and she just smiled at me and laughed.”
DiPrima, like the hundreds of others wearing “I’m Ready for Hillary” stickers, waited three hours to meet Clinton, breathing in the stifling, recycled air of Bookends’ basement.
Millennials Plan to Vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016; Prefer Rand Paul Among Republican Candidates
Emily Ekins|Jul. 17, 2014 2:55 pm
Millennials like Hillary Clinton, according to the latest Reason-Rupe poll of millennials. Among likely millennial voters, 53 percent plan to vote for her if she runs for president in 2016.[1]Even though they see themselves as closer to Republican Gov. Chris Christie on economics, they perceive to be closer to Clinton on social issues. Ultimately they are planning to vote for Clinton. There is also reason to believe that social issues are largely driving the wedge between young people and Republicans.
Part of Clinton’s popularly is undoubtedly related to her heightened name recognition. But most of the Democratic candidates asked about in the survey receive more “yes” votes than votes against them. Vice President Joe Biden comes in second with 30 percent and Elizabeth Warren with 22 percent.(Survey respondents could select more than one candidate).
Execs on notice after Hillary’s book sales tank

There’s hand-wringing and finger-pointing at Simon & Schuster over the soft performance of Hillary Clinton’s “Hard Choices,” for which she got a $14 million advance, sources said — and which was replaced at No. 1 on the best-seller list this week by an “exposé” about Hillary and Bill Clinton.
The former secretary of state’s tome sold 161,000 copies in its first three weeks, according to Nielsen BookScan — but 85,000 of those were sold in the first week. That number has dropped sharply to 48,000 and 28,000 in subsequent weeks, with the most recent numbers due out Wednesday.
Simon & Schuster shipped an optimistic 1 million copies to stores. Hillary reportedly got $8 million for her last book for the publisher, “Living History,” which sold 438,000 copies in its first week and more than 1.15 million overall.
Adding insult to injury, the new book was pushed from the No. 1 spot on the New York Times best-seller list this week by Edward Klein’s story of the Clintons’ pained relationship with Barack and Michelle Obama, “Blood Feud.” A source close to Hillary has blasted the book, along with its author, as “dastardly” and a combination of “pathological lying, hate and just flat-out creepiness.”
Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton alliance under strain
Hillary Clinton’s “Hard Choices” caused barely a ripple when her aides sent an early copy to the White House. Privately, President Barack Obama’s aides shrugged when asked what they thought about the book. Some didn’t even crack it open. But one anecdote showed the strains just below the surface. “What Difference does it Make ” Iraq casts shadow over Clinton By Alexander Bolton – 06/14/14 06:00 AM EDT
The growing crisis and threat of all-out civil war in Iraq has cast a cloud over Hillary Clinton’s book tour touting her accomplishments as secretary of State.
The release of “Hard Choices” was supposed to remind people of the foreign policy credentials she burnished in the Obama administration.
ADVERTISEMENT On Tuesday, White House spokesman Josh Earnest even said Clinton’s greatest accomplishments at the State Department included ending the war in Iraq and “decimating and destroying” al Qaeda.
But those résumé bullet points are now up for debate as Iraq has erupted in violence and insurgents linked to al Qaeda have captured four cities, including Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest metropolitan center.
“It’s going to be a problem for her starting now,” Republican National Committee spokesman Sean Spicer said of the country’s collapsing stability.
“You have the White House three days ago talking about one of her greatest accomplishment was eradicating al Qaeda in Iraq. One of her greatest accomplishments was winding down war in Iraq. Forty-eight hours later we’re dealing with a situation where we’re talking about how to best help eradicate an al Qaeda offshoot in Iraq,” he said.
Donald Trump unleashes anti-media tirade
By JONATHAN TOPAZ | 5/5/14 7:45 AM EDT
Donald Trump slammed the media on Monday, calling the press “really dishonest” in its coverage of everything from Benghazi to his recent comments about Donald Sterling.
“I have found the press to be among the most dishonest institutions. I’ve never seen anything like it,” the real estate magnate said on “Fox & Friends.”
The developer said that the media have avoided coverage of the September 2012 attacks in Benghazi because they are trying to insulate many on the left from negative coverage.
“Most of the press, the liberal press in particular, does not want to talk about Benghazi,” Trump said. “And they want to protect anybody involved with respect to Benghazi.” Among those the media are trying to protect, he said, is former Secretary of State and potential 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Trump also railed against the press for its coverage of his remarks last week about Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, who has been suspended for life by the NBA for his comments on race. Last week, while criticizing Sterling’s comments, Trump described V. Stiviano, the woman who taped her conversation with the Clippers owner, as “the girlfriend from hell.”
(Also on POLITICO: Trump: ‘The girlfriend from hell’)
“She’s called the girlfriend from hell, but what he said was terrible and despicable and very strong action is going to be taken. There’s no question about it,” Trump said last week of Stiviano and Sterling. “She’s a terrible human being, and he gave horrible answers and disgusting answers.” POLITICO reported the story last week with the headline: “Donald Trump on Donald Sterling comments: ‘The girlfriend from hell.’”
Trump said that the press only covered his comments on Stiviano and neglected his statements criticizing Sterling.
“Nobody was tougher on Donald Sterling than I was,” he said on Monday, while adding that he still thinks Stiviano was “bad news.”
“Reporters are really dishonest, especially political reporters,” he continued.
And though Trump knocked the press in general, he did single out one outlet in particular: “Huffington Post is, like, pathetic,” he said.
