No Injuries Reported After Tree Crushes Parked Car in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, The roof of a parked, unoccupied passenger vehicle was crushed Thursday afternoon, 10/17, when high winds blew over a large tree on Brookside Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus. Ho-Ho-Kus Police responded to the incident along with Ho-Ho-Kus DPW. The crumpled SUV was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck after DPW employees removed the downed tree from its roof. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Ho Ho Kus Will be Conducting a Borough Wide Fire Hydrant Flushing from April 15th to May 6th

Ho Ho Kus NJ, Fire Hydrant flushing schedule The DPW will follow the zones listed below for our semi- annual flushing schedule. These are the same zones used for leaf collection so you should be familiar with them. Flushing will take place over a given week in each zone as noted. We caution resident’s water may get dirty during this process and that doing laundry should be avoided. Just let the cold water run for a few minutes until clear once the flushing is complete. This is an important part of maintaining our water system and we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. Check the DPW or Borough’s Facebook pages, website or call 201- 652-4400 ext 221 or 230 with questions.

Fallen Tree Traps House Occupant in Ho Ho Kus

Ho Ho kus NJ, According to the  Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department , at approximately 16:52 hours Department 7 responded to a residence on Bernard Place for a fallen tree onto a house and vehicle with an occupant trapped inside the vehicle. Arriving units advised live wires were involved and reported access problems to the trapped occupant. PSE&G was dispatched before rescue operations could begin. Once power was secured to the area companies extricated the occupant who was transferred to the care of EMS with non-life threatening injuries. The home involved suffered extensive structural damage. This call was a unified effort by all Borough agencies. Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department , Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps., Ho Ho Kus DPW
