Obituary John “Jack” Lorenz
Lorenz, John “Jack” A resident of Gulf Shores, AL, passed away November 29, 2014. Mr. Lorenz was a passionate, proud, and innovative educator of 45 years who was greatly loved by his students, family and friends. He served in five different school districts in Illinois, New York, and New Jersey over the course of his career.
Mr. Lorenz was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Genieve (Rita) Lorenz; and sister, Donna Haase. He is survived by his wife, Karen Lorenz; sons, Gregory (Krislene) Lorenz, Jeffery Lorenz, John “Jake” Lorenz, and Matthew Lorenz; grandchildren, Lauren and Griffin Lorenz; sisters, Andrea Kubsch and Lynda Stout; and brother, Keith Lorenz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John “Jack” Lorenz Scholarship Fund, Backwoods, c/o David Zrike, 133 Heights Road, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. A celebration of his life will be held on December 22, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ridgewood Public Library, 125 N. Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ and on December 28, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. at White Eagle Restaurant, 6839 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, IL.
