Paramus NJ, an outbreak of gastrointestinal illness among its patients, CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue, with 110 beds for long-term care, rehabilitation and respite care facilitates. According to a patient at the facility the outbreak began on Sunday, with patients experiencing vomiting and diarrhea.
CareOne on Ridgewood Avenue and its related assisted living facility, CareOne at the Cupola, are both owned by Millennium Healthcare Centers, LLC of Fort Lee. The facility received an overall rating of five stars, “much above average” on Medicare’s NursingHomeCompare website. That was based on ratings of “average” for quality measures, “above average” for staffing, and “much above average” for health inspections.
Donna Leusner, a spokeswoman for the Paramus Board of Health told North jersey media the facility is taking steps to address it.
