“Parking will be extremely limited tonight at the middle school where the Ridgewood Planning Board is voting on Valley Hospital’s expansion plans.
The Planning Board secretary announced this afternoon that the village just discovered that parking will not be available at the large church lot across from George Washington Middle School.
The school itself has only a small lot and legal parking is scarce on the major streets around the school.
The Planning Board changed the meeting location from Benjamin Franklin Middle School, which has ample parking, late last week.
Board Secretary Barbara Carlton suggests that people carpool to the meeting. “

President Nixon, in 1972, established a permanent national observance of Father’s Day to be held on the third Sunday of June. Procedure for Filling Vacant Council Seat – June 18, 2010
The Village Council has chosen not to fill the vacant seat on the Village Council. The seat will remain vacant until the November General Election, at which time a candidate will be elected to fill the remainder of the vacant term until June 30, 2012.
Any Village resident, who is a registered voter, may run in this election. The filing deadline will be in September 2010. The same process as was used for the Municipal Election will be used. Nominating petitions will be filed with the Village Clerk’s Office, which must then be verified by the Village Clerk, and once the required number of petitions has been reached, the Village Clerk will certify the candidates to be placed on the November General Election ballot.
The candidate who wins in the November General Election will take office immediately following the November General Election.
