Tensions have escalated between the Palisades Park Education Association (PPEA) and the school board since the teachers’ contract expired in June 2024.
In April, the PPEA voted “no confidence” in the board’s leadership amid ongoing contract disputes. During a heated board meeting that month, Board President Soo Chung delivered a 20-minute statement criticizing the union’s negotiation tactics as “unprofessional” and “deceptive.”
Chung also revealed that she filed a police report after allegedly being threatened by a teacher following the meeting.
