The arrest followed a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, led by Chief Matthew Finck, and the Palisades Park Police Department, under Captain George Beck.
The investigation began on Monday, June 2, 2025, after the Palisades Park Police contacted county authorities regarding a report of an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in May 2025. According to law enforcement, the evidence gathered indicates that Perez Garcia sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile in Palisades Park.
As a result, Perez Garcia was charged with the following:
-
Second-degree Sexual Assault – N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4)
-
Third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child – N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1)
Following his surrender, Perez Garcia was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, where he will remain pending his first court appearance at the Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Authorities also extended their gratitude to the Palisades Park Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.
