PARAMUS, NJ — Homeowners in Paramus are set to see the lowest property tax rate in a decade. According to Mayor Chris DiPiazza, Bergen County has officially certified the borough’s 2025 apportionment of tax levies, locking in a rate of 1.49%—one of the lowest not only in Bergen County, but across all of North Jersey.

For a home assessed at $1,000,000, the 2025 property tax breakdown will be:

  • County: $2,310

  • County Open Space: $110

  • District School: $7,100

  • Library: $350

  • Municipal: $5,120

Mayor DiPiazza emphasized that the rate reflects a continued effort to maintain fiscal responsibility while delivering quality services to residents. The new rate positions Paramus as a standout in the region for affordability relative to home values—an important factor for current homeowners and prospective buyers alike.

  1. But the trade-off is more traffic congestion and nonstop construction.

    1. Are you talking about Ridgewood or Paramus?

  2. The town was just revalued with higher property values so of course the rate is low.
Ridgewood played the same game talking about the “rate” but not mentioning total spending. By the way, Valley Hospital has so far paid zero to Ridgewood. Look it up on the website. Wonder why KK didn’t put out a press release.

  3. Exactly I don’t care if it’s 0%, Paramus is going to shit. Who wants to live in that town. There’s no business section, all you have is highways and County roads running through the town and every road has constant traffic. Talk about noise pollution Talk about pollution from the cars, all the traffic, who needs the hat what bullshit. And it’s just gonna get worse, with all the building that’s going on jamming it up everyone’s ass., You have everybody under the sun coming in and out and through that town to do business. No privacy, fuck that down you can keep it and get the building multi million dollar houses in that town why would you want to spend that kind of money in that town to deal with that. When you can go to a few towns away and being in a quiet town think about it. And I’m sure we’ll get a few people that put thumbs down. That’s OK cause I know where they are and it’s amazing they live in that town, but they don’t wanna work in that town. Right right?

    1. Do you have a point to make? Yikes. LOL

  4. The tradeoff of paying a few hundred less $/yr per house is to turn the place into a chaotic city which Paramus is well on the way for. As per RW, the same will happen but the hype will continue. At some point the only difference with Ridgewood in Queens will be that ours will have a much higher tax rate and will be slightly more appealing but still a sh.hole. Don’t forget to vote for that dem nut who will “stand up” to Trump come election time. Vote with a vengeance. LOL
