Paramus NJ, a landscaper’s Ford pickup truck struck the rear side of an Amazon delivery van before crashing into a utility pole and tree early Friday afternoon on Haase Avenue, near Farview Avenue. The incident resulted in traffic delays and a response from multiple emergency and utility crews.
Minor Injuries Reported in Paramus Multi-Vehicle Crash
According to local authorities, the Amazon delivery driver was not injured in the crash. However, two occupants of the landscaper’s vehicle sustained non-life-threatening head injuries.
One of the injured individuals was transported to a nearby hospital by Paramus EMS. The second occupant declined medical attention at the scene.
Damage to Utility Infrastructure Delays Tow Operation
The collision significantly damaged a utility pole on Haase Avenue. A PSE&G Electric Division troubleshooter arrived to address a damaged guy wire, which had to be secured before any vehicle recovery could proceed.
Two tow trucks were dispatched to the scene. Both the landscaper’s Ford pickup and its attached utility trailer were towed from the site. Fortunately, the Amazon van sustained only minor damage and was able to leave under its own power.
Police Investigation and Traffic Control
Paramus Police Department patrol officers responded quickly to the scene, conducting a thorough crash investigation and providing traffic control during the incident response and cleanup.
The incident highlights the importance of maintaining safe distances while driving in residential neighborhoods, especially on narrower roads like Haase Avenue.
