Paramus NJ, Paramus Mayor Chris DiPiazza  introduces the Borough of Paramus Municipal budget.

Mayor  DiPiazza said in a Facebook post, ” I’m proud of the hard work and collaboration by our Governing Body, Borough Administrator, CFO, and all department heads in delivering another stable and responsible municipal budget for the residents of Paramus.”

He pointed out the following:
-Paramus continues to maintain one of the lowest municipal tax rates in Bergen County — compare us to neighboring towns like Oradell, Ridgewood, River Edge, and Fair Lawn. An assessed million dollar home will pay roughly $15,000 in property taxes (county, school, local) in Paramus
-Looking ahead, one of our key goals is to increase the percentage of commercial ratables within our total net valuation. Projects like Costco and others will help strengthen that base, which currently stands at 44%.
-Our surplus continues to grow, allowing us to invest locally and wisely — including major support for our Shade Tree Department, Recreational Programs, DPW, and Police Department.
– the majority of your property tax bill is determined by the Board of Education, not the municipal government.
and concluded by saying:
“As always, I’m available to answer any questions. Feel free to direct message me here, email, or stop by Borough Hall.”
