Paramus NJ, Authorities in two states pursued a Philadelphia man for over a 100 miles, during which he deliberately crashed into police cars before eventually being arrested by Paramus Police late Thursday night.
According to Paramus Police Mark Simpson, 31, led police on a high speed chase, fleeing from an alleged theft in Greene County, New York, when he entered Paramus driving a U-Haul moving truck that only had two front rims, a rear flat tire and a partially detached front bumper.
Paramus police identified the vehicle from an earlier alert from New York State Police at about 10:40 p.m. describing the truck, which had an Arizona registration. When Paramus Police attempted to stop the truck, Simpson rammed into Police vehicles.No injuries to the police officers were reported .
After the crash Simpson took flight on foot, but was quickly caught by police leading to his arrest. Simpson faces five counts of aggravated assault, and one count of eluding police in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and possession of stolen property.
