Paramus NJ, the newly elected Republican majority is pleased to announce a new budget for the Borough of Paramus. The budget will cut the former Democrat majority’s spending increase by more than half and cut the average tax increase per home nearly 7.5% without cutting municipal services.

This tax decrease comes at a critical time, where families are seeing prices go up in nearly every consumer sector. The tax savings also come after back-to-back years of double-digit tax increases by the previous Democrat majority.

The Republican led council looks forward to continuing to lower the tax burden on residents in difficult economic times while maintaining and growing services available to the community.

  1. Let’s not only reduce the property tax burden but also put a stop the overdevelopment in town.

  2. Well the mayor and council have the opportunity to have a marijuana store in Paramus, the mayor is in favor, but some of the counsel is not in favor. So now they lose about $1 million in tax revenue. It’s a lot of money and revenue.

    1. It’s not worth the revenue.

I’m sure putting in a strip club would also raise a lot of revenue.

  3. We don’t need pot heads loitering and getting high at a retail location and jumping in their cars driving stoned on weed. Traffic accident statistics in established recreational pot states are staggering. Don’t want that here.
Perhaps the mayor will come up with less dangerous objectives to collect tax revenues.
