Parent Referendum Presentations Go Forward but Ridgewood BOE Says, “it’s Not Finalized”

BOE

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Facebook page  Unofficial: Ridgewood NJ Updates’s, ” Our board of education CLAIMS that they have not yet “finalized” the list of projects for referendum and that will be done in March 2020.

If the list is not finalized, then why are they spending THOUSANDS of dollars this month for presentations to parents in schools, and if LAN associate’s stated timeline of 10 months was true, then in payments to LAN associates for final sketches?

Is this just a TRICK to delay the official vote until spring re-election of board president Jennie Smith Wilson and board vice president James A Morgan?

Have they finalized all the projects and just delaying the formal vote until/close to their re-election? Why would they do parent presentations, if list of projects and projected monthly increase in taxes is not finalized yet? Aren’t those two basic questions to be answered during those presentations? “

  1. Parent feedback is important input to the processs, to help shape the final list. I don’t see this any different than DMK seeking resident input to the master plan vision survey. If they worked in a vacuum you wouldn’t be happy either. Seems like some people have a predetermined issue with the BOE and maybe upset their candidate didn’t get the open seat
