Editors note: most adults seem just as clueless

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, citing survey results released on Monday, blames widespread ignorance for the relatively positive views millennials have toward socialism and communism.
Of the 2,300 Americans polled by YouGov, 80% of baby boomers and 91% of the elderly agree with the statement that “communism was and still is a problem” in the world today. Millennials? Only 55%.

No amount of compelling historical evidence will convince millennials that communism is bad. They are naive and idealistic. They simply believe that communism is great but that it’s never been given a chance to operate in a fair environment. It’s actually pretty hard to disagree with communism in its theoretical form. It’s the same thing with young people and voting Democrat. It’s not until much later in life that you realize that I don’t want to share my money with a bunch of thieving and lazy layabouts.
Well put, 7:23. I also think that many mellennials have never had to work as hard as their parents so do not fully understand the value of leisure time vs. part time jobs. Seems that they all think they should start at the top. There are exceptions but I do see many of them as very spoiled and indulged and naive. Sometimes I think living in our lovely little village is just a bit too sheltering … affluence is a great insulator from the realities of the world. I count my blessings but I think many millennials don’t even realize what blessings they have!
Typical talk from fogies. We “millennials” pretty much just want what Canada has, and that’s not so terrible, is it?
yes it is 9:40… you show your naiveté and prove the point of the other two commenters.
