New York NY, a brutal assault was stopped short early Tuesday morning at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, thanks to the swift actions of the Port Authority Police Department (PAPD). A 25-year-old female Greyhound employee was savagely attacked by a knife-wielding woman in the terminal’s Greyhound area.
Quick Action Saves Victim’s Life
The harrowing incident occurred around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. PAPD Officers Fajardo and Changtroaleke were on routine patrol when they were alerted to the ongoing assault. As they raced to the scene, they received crucial information: the attacker was actively stabbing and slashing the victim.
Upon their arrival in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan, the officers found the 36-year-old attacker standing over the wounded and bloodied employee. Officers immediately took the attacker into custody and recovered a blood-covered knife, preventing further violence.
Police Render Critical Aid
Following the immediate threat being neutralized, other responding officers rendered crucial first aid, working quickly to control the bleeding from the victim’s multiple stabbing and slashing wounds. FDNY EMS arrived shortly after and continued critical care before transporting the victim to a local hospital.
The Police Benevolent Association (PBA) publicly acknowledged the “great work” of all officers involved, praising their dedication to the safety of the millions of people who use Port Authority facilities daily across New York and New Jersey.
This incident is a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of working in high-traffic transportation hubs and the vital role law enforcement plays in protecting the public.
