They ask that the students purchase the TI Nspire calculator. There are three models that I have seen for $139 – $159. The calculators need to be recharged, much like a cellphone. Can’t wait to see the panic during the SAT when a calculator dies. There is software in i, graphics and even a color screen. I am sure that the batteries will be dying while in use.
Does the school district get money or products from Texas Instruments in return for requiring this calculator? Is it really that much better than the TI 84? And do they require the regular or 84 keypad? Feel free to spend my money.
