Reader asks have we received signed assurances that our children would not be tracked?
Why do we have an online system that is a hodgepodge? Multiple signons. Skyward, blackboard, Google groups and that awful system to pay fees.
Do we have any assurance from Google that they will not be tracking our children? Teachers use Google class management. Is Google tracking the student’s grades and progress in school?
In California parents pushed for and received signed assurances that their children would not be tracked. Do we have the same guarantees?
I think its also cool that we now force students’ Logons to contain their birth year — what genius thought this was a good idea?
A user should not have a password “system”. RPS is giving dada away for free.
The birth year should never be a part of IDs for a group. Our schoold do not have a strong IT depRtment.
For such a lage school system with such a large budget in such an affluent district the IT department is very very inadequate.
Especially in the areas of saftey secuirity and support.
This is because while technology abounds, it is not a priority of the school and the money and resources and implementation reflect this.
