Reader asks what hospital do they brings the victims of said accidents to??? HACKENSACK!!!

The funny thing is, when you hear about serious accidents in town, what hospital do they brings the victims of said accidents to??? HACKENSACK!!!!

How many times have I read in the local papers that those injured in accidents, whether they be car accidents or whatever, were transported to Hackensack. Why is that?? Does Valley not have the capabilities to treat serious trauma cases??? or do those involved ask to be taken to Hackensack??

Has anybody asked to view the monthly occupancy rates at Valley as I doubt they have an issue with overcrowding – and if the occupancy rates show that admittance to Valley on an average monthly basis shows that at any given time, Valley has on average 50% occupancy, then Valley should be able to accommodate converting its existing structure to single bed rooms. This is based on serious trauma been treated at bigger hospitals.

The fact that they are paying outside experts to sell their square peg in a circle scenario is crazy – it would be very interesting to see what fees these experts are being paid and what previous jobs they have been involved in to see if they have been involved with Valley-like scenarios before and what those results have been.

Think about the pharmaceutical industry in which the big pharma companies paid ad agencies big money to promote their products to the masses only for these companies to hide data that showed their products killed people – think Vioxx – when the truth came out all the experts in the world, couldn’t hide the lies anymore.

  1. https://www.state.nj.us/health/ems/trama_centers.shtml

Level II trauma centers are also expected to provide definitive trauma care, regardless of the severity of injury. Level II trauma centers have most of the clinical capabilities of a Level I. Level II trauma centers are required to participate in trauma research conducted by the Level Is and to sponsor public and provider educational programs in cooperation with the Level I centers. Level II trauma centers must treat a minimum of 350 patients per year.

    Level I Trauma Centers

    UMDNJ-University Hospital, Newark
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick
    Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center, Camden

    Level II Trauma Centers

    Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack
St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Paterson
Jersey City Medical Center, Jersey City
    Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown
Capital Health System at Fuld, Trenton
    Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune
AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City

  2. Ok dipshit we get it. You bought a cheap house next to Valley. How about sticking to the FACTS. Trauma centers are regulated by the state. Since Hackensack , sEwark,Jersey city and Trenton have more low-lifes shooting each other, that is where they trauma centers are located. In Ridgewood, we might have some dummy wearing a suit throw his blackberry at someone, which doesn’t require a trauma center.

  3. #1 so what’s your point? Valley isn’t a trauma hospital and never will be or asks to be one. Again, what’s your point?

  4. As the reader who asked the original question, I just wanted to know the reason about trauma treatment at Valley – #1 the info didn’t really provide the answer to the question – are not all A&E’s capable of dealing with car accident victims? It’s not as if they have bullets and stab wounds, per #2 who seems be hung up on where people have bought their homes, which is irrelevant given the issues that the whole town will face if Valley is given the green light to proceed. If, according to the fact that Valley does not treat trauma cases, it is purely a specialist hospital. So it begs the question, what are the average monthly capacity rates at Valley and if they are at a low percentage, is there a need to over develop the current site with its square peg in a circle desires?

  5. Whenever a Valley supporter gets frustrated by the lack of any good reason for an expansion of this magnitude they cry Linwood Avenue. It’s like arguing with a 3rd grader.

  6. The supporters will never get the negative implications of this on the entire town because they are so focused on just one thing rather than seeing the whole picture. Probably have someone working there and need the money. It certainly can’t be what is good for Ridgewood, or common sense for that matter.

  7. How many times do we have to talk about why traumatic injuries go to Hackensack?? It seems to be explained every time!!!

  8. Why do you, or anyone else, assume these people are going to Hackensack because these injuries are traumatic ? Maybe their primary physician is there,or they are given a choice and feel they will receive better treatment for whatever reason. From accidents I’ve read about, the injured certainly have not been hurt bad enough to warrant a ride in a helicopter, at least in most cases.

The point is, Valley wants to become what Hackensack is. Get it ?

  9. There hasn’t been a helicopter transport in Ridgewood for years. Where are you getting your info from??

  10. The point is that most of the injuries that have been written about are not serious enough “warrant a ride in a helicopter.” Figure of speech.
