” Its Greek to me is bright blue. Lisas Mediterranean is red and gold. Jekyll and Hyde is green Let’s face it, there is plenty of color on Ridgewood stores but for some reason, these two do not like the orange Racefaster. It is disgusting how this new business is being treated and it is certainly not reflective of a newcomer should be welcomed to town. “

  1. Color is permitted as long as the intent stays with keeping it tasteful and historic. Current ordinance indicates color is permitted on moldings. Why does this business think they can break the rule and paint bright orange on every wall. Yet we can’t have a lamb outside the mattress store. Residents think real estate signs are offensive but not orange buildings, haha. Or why did we repaint titos. The orange leaf store complied, why can’t they. Can new stores use yellow, purple or pink? Florescent paints are trending… Where do you stop? Hmmm must be friends with someone on the VC

  2. I like it looks nice and clean. They should have a task force walking around the CBD to see how many businesses are dirty and need to be painted. People need to get a life. It’s nice to see different colors in the CBD it brightens everything up.

  3. Haha, put me on that task force! First violation would be Herr Damiano, whose store looks like CRAP.

  4. It looks wonderful. They did not break ANY rules. And orange, by the way, is a god-given color seen in flowers, fall foliage, monarch butterflies, birds. Who the hell died and appointed these couple of assholes the experts on what looks nice??? You don’t want yellow, purple, or pink either? What the heck. Do you dress in all black and is your house painted exclusively in “winter white?” BORING

  5. Hey Tony D.: Get over it. The color is fine. Move on; you’re making a spectacle of yourself.

  6. Orange is the new black.

  7. Tony-Tess-Denise. So nasty

  8. That group ran around Bossing Evryone around with no one reigning them in for a long time. It’s nice to see them having a little bit of a road block against trying to tell eveyone what to do.
Why do people like Toni get to stay on boards for so long when clearly they have an agenda.

  9. Little power trip going on for Tony Damiano and Tess Giuliani. Sorry, you two, your opinions suck and you have no power. The new store is lovely and it will succeed in spite of your terrible efforts to make it fail

  10. People should focus more on empty stores than the color of an existing store. Jesus this town is insane.

  11. Agree, empty stores are a concern. New stores should be encouraged and applauded, not attacked by self-serving morons.

  12. Brick and mortar retail is dying. Drab color schemes will save it…

  13. What does the building code say? If orange is allowed (and chances are that it is), then this is a complete non-starter and we move on…

  14. Hermès orange!! Love it

  15. This is just continuing down the slippery slope that started with the midnight purple painting of Tito’s Burritos. It was allowed to stay then, what’s to stop anyone from doing the same? Don’t like this logic? I would suggest you get used to it. There’s a lot more “We’ll they did this over here” coming! Maybe it will be addressed in the master plan!

  16. Oh my word people, STOP THIS NONSENSE. Let the businesses spruce up their store fronts with pretty colors and window displays. You naysayers all make me sick. Slippery slope? Slippery slope to a lovely downtown, I say! The danger is creating an atmosphere of exclusivity that will not permit anything but carefully vetted businesses whose owners must kiss the arses of Damiano and Giuliani.

  17. Problem is when these fly by night places fail. A fraying orange façade is not going to be very welcoming to the next tenant, unless, of course, its one of the tatoo parlors that have been eying our downtown ever since we started building slums.

  18. orange is not permitted – all of the historians in town who helped develop the ordinance way before Susan, say this is in violation and the intent of a historic look and feel. Let’s get the lamb back, let Tito repaint, let the Ramen shop have a florescent light, let’s allow signs in other languages……. but the same people who want the orange building won’t allow restaurants to have really pretty outdoor dining during their summer busy season. now who’s calling the kettle black? I mean orange? Your reasoning’s are never consistent. If you want the CBD to look and feel different, then change the overall ordinance not to have a historic designation and don’t worry about preservation. heck, knock it all down and build 10 adult living communities and call it a day

  19. I hope Racefaster is a huge success and puts Damiano and Guiliani out of business. They stink
