I think it is past the point of no return. From Aronsohn to Knudsen to Realtor in Chief we have been taken for a ride. Deservedly so as this town is full of snobs who don’t really care about town management. As long as their leaves are swept, recycling is picked up on time and streets are clean of snow they are just fine (actually management of these issues sucks big time). As more of these types move into Ridgewood the situation will only get worse. We all came together against Valley but nobody gives a peep about the incredible and permanent impact all this housing will bring. In hindsight I wish Valley stayed. I would rather have doctor’s offices all around the village than ugly buildings and crowded streets and schools. Too late now. Unless we all rise and contest this travesty with housing at a time when people in droves are laving NJ we are finished. We are about to become a city. By the time we will all look to sell and leave we won’t even get our money’s worth. Developers are trying to maximize and occupy every inch they can get because they face no resistance by our chosen officials. Looking at the development site on Broad St they are digging foundations just about 5-10 feet from the train tracks. RW is their playground now but we are too stupid to realize.

  1. We’re Rich and Stupid…. mostly Stupid.

  2. Remember that Valley started this whole mess – they thought they had a back room deal with David Pfund and that they could do an end run around the residents. In the 10 years it took to stop Valley, the developers succeeded where Valley failed. Aronsohn and his mates cut the deals behind our backs and then railroaded them through. We forced and won the referendum on the garage and are still getting a garage. We should have had the referendum on the dormitories/apartments that Saraceno and Co. are building.

  3. Maybe we should build a wall somewhere!

  4. Yep – don’t forget Pfund. Like that old triple play Pfund – to Aronson – To Knudsen and we are all left to Chance with the new realtor in chief.

  5. This place is getting more depressing by the day. Scary to think what it will look like in a couple of years.

  6. was a long time resident..the town looks worn out..roads are all beaten up ,,meters are bent and sidewalks are cracked and commercial driveways are never repaired. The new decapitated meter polls are rediculous with 20 signs pointing the visitors to the kiosks buried into the bushes at cottage place.

Construction sites ,litter even in spring with the excellent gardening efforts of volunteers the Town has changes looks tired and uncared for.LOOK AT TOWN GARAGE SITE

Should be condemned and taken down capped surface wise due to the environmental concerns underneath.

  7. I agree with the last comment. We also left several years ago, forced out by a job loss and increase in taxes. Lived through the Valley Expansion debacle and glad it was defeated. With all this development and that travesty of the parking garage Ridgewood will become another Montclair. It was hard to leave but with all that has happened in the past few years since our departure, I’m certain it was the right thing to do. And yes, that Town Garage has been an eyesore and issue of controversy for years. Make the speculators who bought it pay for clean up. It is not the responsibility of the tax payers but sadly it will probably end up as such.

  8. I seem better parking lots in the inner city to bed to Ridgewood. What a friggin disgrace

  9. Parking is right..there has to be some larger forces at work
here town is slipping into. glacier of neglect..developers
standing by to take the distressed assets off the towns books..look at town garage site and other surface lots..

    a disgrace..slip fall and sue festival…
