“When it first opened in Paramus it was a novelty so I went a few times. I got tired of the piss poor attitude of the cashiers. And the milk never seemed to last. Hope the company can straighten their balance sheet out, but if employees aren’t friendly its not getting my business. Maybe I got a few nasty Bronx transplants at the register, but after a few trips I decided to go elsewhere.”

I only shopped at Paramus Fairway a few times. It is difficult for me to get to that location. Each time I frequented the store I found the employees to be very helpful and friendly.I found the store neat and clean. The produce department looked pristine and encouraged me to purchase items that were not on my list. All I can say about the deli and meat departments is “wow”. I think the selection and quality of the food is fantastic and I will be using the store more often.
The writer of this piece hopes that the balance sheet can be straightened out.
That point is no longer attainable. Fairway is full Ch 7. It’s all over. That fat lady has sung and left the stage.
I’ve been shopping there for a couple of years, mostly for meat products. The store layout is good and selection is far better than at most grocery options. Service has always been friendly, not that I particularly care about service at a grocery store. The only thing that I didn’t like were the prices. Way too inflated. Because of that, my typical shopping is done at Trader Joe’s and fairway is a once in a while butcher visit. Sorry to hear about their financial problems. It’s always better to have more grocery options than less.
Oh, and I don’t care about transplants. If people wanna work, more power to them. Who talks like that these days anyway?
I shop at the Fairway in Paramus about once a week. Mostly for some of the produce and all my deli items. The staff at the deli counter is fantastic. If they are not busy and see me coming towards the counter they usually start slicing my order. The other staff have always been very friendly and helpful.
They have the best cashiers. They should train the cashiers in every supermarket. Ridgewood Stop and Shop could learn a lot from them. Stop and Shop actually wants us to do our own check-out and most days they will have one line open to force customers to self serve.
