Sheila Brogan horrified the assembled multitude that night at BF and sure enough, her comments have returned to haunt us many times over. They were quickly turned into PowerPoint slides by Valley’s attorneys. Our elected BOE hires the Superintendent of Schools, not the reverse, and should have stood firm, acting as a staunch defender of students’ and teachers’ health, safety, and ability to learn and teach in peace and health. That defection was one of the harshest blows in this nearly decade-long fight to prevent Ridgewood from becoming Valleywood. Ms. Brogan’s failure to support the children and teachers was a terrible and unexpected blow. She has a great deal to answer for and should stop running for reelection to the BOE.
When is the next board of Ed election? There is no information available on the school board’s website.
Her comparison of other work done in schools while classes were in session to a (minimum) 6 year project that will produce traffic, dust, aggravation and other safety concerns is absolutely ridiculous…just like her.
When did she become a construction or engineering expert? She’s a publicity hound who just loves to get her name or photo in the papers – well she accomplished her goal big time with her absurd comments. Since she has no kids in the schools, how objective do you think her comments are? She and her pal Sonnenfeld are a real pair. Sonnenfeld tells her what the party line is, and Brogans spits it out.
The attorney, Mr Drill and the planning board ignored me when I spoke out about the fact that Valley Hospital objects to the noise of jets flying over the hospital, now that Teterboro has changed routes, but does not consider valid the objections of residents over the noise of construction and trucks over a six year period.
Why did they ignore me, because I am old?
Sheila Brogans silence was predictable. She and the “retired guys on the Board” appear to have bought into the Valley power. Where was the districts chief medical office regarding the construction and children’s health? Was he not consulted?
On the election of Board members: the system is rigged for incumbents. Try to get candidate information. Impossible.

I think Diane has made an excellent point . . . Valley objects to airplanes flying over the hospital but does not see any impact on BFMS from multi-year construction. Sorry Valley but you cannot have it both ways.
