Dr. Gorman’s letter is even wordier than Fishbein’s letter but essentially the same.
.
I guess the Ridgewood Schools administrators just can’t help themselves… they must feel compelled to paint with a broad brush and send a message blaming all of the students and the parents and everyone else rather than focusing on the small number of “offenders” (instigators, participants, recorders, watchers) by sending a positive message of “bad apples don’t spoil the bunch”.
.
I guess if the only tool you have is a broad brush then every problem is treated as a whitewash of communal blame.
Maybe because it is? I saw how the pitchfork mob worked up its rage based on the one-sided account of the incident posted on social media. Not a lot of mature, rational adults in this town it seems.
Yes they play the political game what else is new. They don’t like bad press like we always say the town is getting overrated
Gosh, Gorman’s letter was long, too long. A lot of generalization and a lot of cliche. Somewhere in the lines I remember I saw sth about vaping, drugs etc. Mr. Gorman, my child tells me that in multiple occasions boys have been seen vaping in THE CLASSROOM during class and the teacher doesn’t do anything about it. This is scandalous.
11: 26 Agree. A group of people should be embarrassed by their rush to judgement and the ugly remarks that some made.
12:53 Id like to assume that any vaping in class would fall into the ‘snuck it in behind teachers back ” classification. Still not right to turn head away but think many teachers are programmed these days not to confront students or “infringe on their individual rights or sensitivities “even though it may be to the detriment of the majority. Id like to see the school present and address all these issues in one full swoop and present them at public meetings for comment. I think we’d be surprised at the divide of opinion on certain issues though it would seem perfectly clear what rules and enforcement should be in place to many
