“The minutes shown certainly provide plenty of TOTALLY IGNORED residents who do not want this clear cutting of trees and planting infant trees on the berm which will take at least 20-30 years based on the town’s planting in front of all the new residences on Queens Court and Kingsbridge. We’ve been here 50 years and have only had to rake in the last 10 or so years. There was nothing on this property when we moved in except for 2 scrawny trees in front. And, according to the history revealed about Schedler “the fighting was done on the rise above the River. ” which is actually my house as we are at the very top of the rise. We all know this property was purchased for the use of the athletic groups in Ridgewood which supposedly was going to provide mega bucks by them for the purchase. “
“Absolutely NO consideration was given to the nearness to the highway, the pollution, and the extreme difficulty of anyone who lives “on the other side of the highway” to safely reach here. Kids can’t bike, walk, or be anything but driven. Putting the parking lot exit within feet of cars soaring off the highway at top speed–and these drivers cannot see the parking exit until they are completely off the highway when their only choice is to try to avoid them or an accident. the incoming car has nowhere to go as the sound barriers are on one side of the exit and the parking lot on the other. West Saddle River Road is so narrow it can’t even be divided in two with a yellow stripe. And, if someone is parked on either side–even for a momentary drop-off–ALL other cars have to wait in two lines to take turns passing it. The people who avidly support it, none of whom live here, and so can say whatever they want. “Seeing is believing” but they won’t even come over and take a good luck. Few even try to get where the field will be and see if they actually hear anything the players and umps are saying. For your information–they can’t hear over the sound of the speeding cars and trucks.”

Well, go to a council meeting and tell them. That is my point. Writing here won’t change policy. Postings here should galvanize residents to attend meetings. Council can stop the Schedler project. Hopefully Washington will stop it , according to a Blogger’s comment.
Sedon said a couple years ago that the Schedler project is paid for by tax dollars. It costs millions to clear cut trees and put in parking and golden bathrooms etc. , but he said it will be budgeted over the years so tax payers like you and me won’t feel the full brunt of it every year. Ha ha ha. My answer to them is this: Notice how they are asking us all to contribute to the July 4th fireworks and parade. If they hadn’t destroyed the untouched land at Schedler and left it alone, with just some walking trails, the town could have contributed to the July 4 Celebration. That would have been great. Using extra money they had saved for our celebration. I would have been on board with that, using my tax dollars for that. But I ain’t contributing one cent because of Schedler and the destruction at the train station. The council has their nerve, well I have mine.
“Well, go to a council meeting and tell them.” HELLO!!!! Did you read what you are responding to? Minutes, as in account of what happened at the Council MEETING, prove that residents SPOKE and told the Council they did NOT want tree cutting. Residents speak and the COUNCIL DOESN’T LISTEN!!!!
I live in the Schedler neighborhood and haven’t heard any complaints from my neighbors. The mountains of dirt are blocking us from seeing and hearing route 17. We all think it’s a big improvement.
With the soil pilled up around those trees in the picture they won’t live long they will suffocate.
The hypocrisy
Bring more dirt in.
