Reader says Village Headed for Bankruptcy
This sounds SO MUCH like Ridgewood. They built a new city hall, a parking garage, some sort of entertainment complex……and their biggest financial burden was to the pensions of the police and firefighters.
We are going directly down this path, and the current council has the pedal to the metal getting us to bankruptcy as fast as they can.

Valley-Stockton-Wood?
It costs time and money to fight Valley. Maybe this town should put Valley on HOLD and make them wait?
the fire and police pay is out of control. the both dept’s should take a pay freezzzzzzzzz for a year or two. come on talk about over paid and lazy. what this some one said in a meeting that the cop’s don’t check the oil in the car’s they drive. other cop’s in next door town’s do check the oil . what’s next call some one in to take the snow off of the cop car’s. what a joke.
they make more and do less. huh, half of them would never make it in a real city.
sell all this land they got in the past few years. rent out a floor in village hall. come on wake up people. we do not need a paid fire dept. take them out of the fire house and put them in the empty job slots that we never filled up in the past ten years. shit in the d p w they are down to 6 or 7 from 28. what the fuck is going on with this town. and yet the police just hired two more cops my god. and two just got bumped up. and the mayor and council say we have no money. bull shit. bull shit. people we are getting bull shit’ed from the bum’s we put in power. what a mess. the b o e and fire and police use up all the tax money. what a dam shame.
