“The Infamous bike lane is really prominent in the accompanying picture. It is rarely used by bikers( too dangerous), has compromised safe turns from Broad Street and West Ridgewood Avenue and unless it is completely removed and 2 lanes restored under the bridge going to the west side, the apartment complex going up at the old Ken Smith Motors site will create serious concerns at that intersection which is already bad enough.”

When the infamous bike lane was installed, I believe the divider was widened. Therefore, there is no longer enough width in each direction (and going around that curve was tight in the first place) to restore two lanes merely by repainting the street. With the divider now filled with electrical wires for the street lights inserted it, a significant amount of expensive work will be required to remove it all so that a narrower divider can be built. The full or partial closure of the underpass for this purpose will cause an enormous traffic problem and must be done immediately or it will go from nightmare to disaster.
