It is a big job and it deserves a big salary.
$167,500 is quite sufficient in my opinion.
Do it for the kids, not for the money.
Not that I think Dr. Fishbein is worth it, but I don’t think Trenton should dictate local salaries. In the next 5 years, we’ll be getting all the rejects who will work for less money who aren’t worth half the salary.
It is a difficult job with a large district. You also have residents criticizing your every decision. His salary is comparable to other supers in the metro area. Do you really want to find the cheapest person willing to do the job or do you want the best.
It is easy to sit back at your computer and second guess the well thought out policies of another. Get your doctorate and rise through the ranks yourself, walk a mile in his shoes.
Until the Governor takes on the pay issue of all public employees, he shouldn’t be picking on one particular job. You’re going to have AD’s and Principals making more than the Super. and that really doesn’t make too much sense now does it?
Seems it’s always “more” with BOE. Notice too how the Council received a couple messages indicating BOE not very interested at all in having a Tiger Team type group be involved in anything over there.
