Readers debate Police Handling of Alleged masturbation incident

So let me get this straight. The keystone cops actually found the guy and then let him go without a charge being filed? How insulting to the person who witnessed the lewd act and to the children who use the area. Lock him up and let him beat his meat in a cell instead of a book stack.

In your infinite wisdom the keystone cops located a person accused of a disorderly persons offense that they did not witness, and they let him go. Pending further investigation. Did it ever occur to you you the KEYSTONE cops did the right thing. The cops can’t charge someone with a disorderly persons offense that they did not witness without a confession with corroboration (sp). Or a statement from a witness there are several other exceptions. Get a life and try doing your own job better instead of telling the cops how to do their job, if the cops locked him up and put him in a cell we would all be paying the false arrest claim one way or another for a long time.

  1. This is the big News of Day…. Can’t this blog and others improve their topics for useful News…

This is all but, gossip News……….junk.

  2. I take it that the library employee won’t sign a statement saying what she saw? She is employed by the library, the reported incident took place at her job, she was on duty at the time, but won’t confirm what she witnessed? Has the library director spoken to this person and informed her how important it is to protect our children? Why won’t the employee sign a statement?

  3. Who said the employee won’t sign a statement ? that is within his or her right and no pressure may be brought to bear on her to do so. There are many factors involved in prosecution before anyone critisizes someone elses decision make sure you know the facts especially when the “facts” come off this blog

  4. I think the cop who had to fingerprint the guy should get hazardous duty pay!

  5. this is a non violent crime though. he needs to go to the psych ward at the very most. stupid though they need to focus on bigger stuff

  6. a description of the person should be made available so that people will be aware
