Paramus NJ, the owner of Garden State Plaza Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield is reimagining our shopping centers as highly curated environments where you can live, shop, work, and play. Together with Mill Creek Residential as co-developer, we are making Garden State Plaza a landmark destination on your must-visit list.

Anticipated to break ground in 2024 and slated to open to residents in 2026, the first phase of development for Garden State Plaza will include 550 luxury apartment homes built by Mill Creek Residential. A one-acre town green will connect the residences with the shopping center, and a ‘main street’ outdoor district will feature restaurants and everyday conveniences and services. The first phase will also see the restoration of a section of the beloved Sprout Brook, part of our commitment to the community and sustainable development.
While most discussions of the grand reimagining of the mall have focused on 550 luxury apartments proposed in an initial phase, the developers said Thursday that future construction could add more than 800 additional units. The future phases, as well as additional retail space, parking garages and a regional bus terminal, would all need approval from the Paramus Planning Board. The next hearing is planned for Oct. 5. The developers have said they hope to break ground as soon as next year.
When the development is complete, Garden State Plaza will no longer be just an exceptional shopping center, but home to modern luxury apartments; plazas, parks, and gardens; health and wellness amenities; a transit center; and commercial spaces such as medical offices, a hotel and/or senior living— all alongside new outdoor shops, restaurants, and community event spaces. Garden State Plaza will be a must-see destination: the perfect place to find the latest fashions, enjoy premier dining, socialize, take a walk or ride a bike, enjoy concerts and cultural festivals, and so much more.

Better reimagine a security force to stop Biden era smash and grab mobs.
Based upon the need for curfews for the ‘youths’ who in their right mind would live there?
Doomed to fail.
Yet another blight on the town of Paramus. We don’t need more development and the police department certainly doesn’t need the additional strain on its force. Also , the Garden State Plaza is owned by a French domiciled company which had been recently talking about selling the property. However they’ve apparently changed course and are thinking about also building a hotel, medical offices, etc in addition to the luxury apartments and retail space. Why are town officials allowing this?Paramus is done. No longer a nice town.
What about all the additional traffic!? These roads are congested enough now….what are the plans for that I’d like to know
Up to Paramus obviously, but other than tons more taxes (to spend), what is the benefit. This mall is too big as it is. I avoid it at all costs.
