Ridgewood NJ, Rep. Scott Garrett (NJ-05), a senior member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement after the House voted for the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act, a budget reconciliation bill which would repeal ObamaCare:
“Many New Jersey families I speak to are suffering from the devastating effects of ObamaCare. People have lost access to their preferred health care and doctors, out-of-pocket costs have increased, premiums have skyrocketed, and some have actually opted to completely forego insurance and instead pay a mandated fine to save money.
“To help these struggling families, today I voted for a budget reconciliation bill that will repeal ObamaCare and relieve our families of the burden placed upon them with this failed health care law. It’s time for President Obama to look at the devastation ObamaCare has caused to hardworking Americans and sign this bill to repeal it.”
The budget reconciliation process eliminates the option of a Senate filibuster and requires the Senate to hold an up or down vote on the bill. Having passed both chambers of Congress, this will be the first time ever that an ObamaCare repeal measure will be presented to the president for his signature or veto.

It does not say what he would replace it with.
And he added a request to defund Planned Parenthood.
What exactly is new here?
If Affordable Healthcare is repealed what will 7 million people do for health insurance?
“affordable healthcare” really??
Why does it need to be replaced.
We are a nation that is broke.
And why should we pay for abortions with tax money.
Please don’t give me that woman’s healthcare BS.
It’s tax dollars used to provide abortions.
People have to pay for healthcare. The Affordable Healthcare Act requires that. Before this many individuals without healthcare through a job went uninsured. Are your memories short? In the “market” preexisting conditions were not covered and individual premiums went up double digits at the will of the insurance companies.
We all were paying for the uninsured. It is better to have them pay then to share the expense.
Tax dollars for Planned Parenthood do not pay for abortions. It pays for women’s healthcare. This is perfect for you:

The Truth Behind Planned Parenthood
.
.
Quick Facts
.
According to their latest annual report (2013-2014), Planned Parenthood reports that their affiliates performed 327,166 abortions – that’s more than 30% of the estimated 1.058 million abortions performed annually in the United States.
.
Based on Planned Parenthood’s most recent annual report, an unborn baby dies every 96 seconds inside a Planned Parenthood clinic.
.
Planned Parenthood’s revenues for 2013-2014 exceeded $1.3 billion. They report that 41% of their income came in the form of “Government Health Services Grants and Reimbursements.”
.
with the repeal the 62nd time is a charm I guess. what are the alternatives? the greatest single reason for personal bankruptcy is medical bill related. No other developed nation has that issue. we have great providers doing the work while executives in their ivory towers pocket millions. UHC is threatening to pull out but they had the money to give a 600 million dollar severance to a past ceo that was pushed out under an ethical cloud.. which was reduced from a billion with a “b”…
unfortunately Obamacare does not fix any of your above stated issues
3% of their services are abortion. 59% of their income is non-government . They have screenings, prenatal care, adoption referrals and even vasectomy services.
Planned Parenthood has always provided services for low income women. Women in Ridgewood can afford to see a private doctor. In other parts of nJ and the USA this is not true.
This is better than , the actual services

Poor women are entitled to health services too. According to your numbers 2:43 Nongovernment funds are 59% of their revenue. The government is paying for health services other then abortion.
5:10 you are funny.
The vast majority of people that signed up for Obamacare can be broken into three groups:
1. Those that lost their policies because of Obamacare and had to replace them.
2. Those that got free Obamacare under expanded Medicaid.
3. Those that received a subsidy under Obamacare.
As for abortion and Planned Parenthood, One half of the people that enter abortion clinics don’t come out.
It reduces the chances of personal bankruptcy, which is a major issue… If Garrett was serious he would push price disclosure so you can see why some treatments in Bayonne cost 4x was they do at Columbia Pres for example… the initial articles were in the Record and it was apparently squashed pretty quickly. Bottom line is you need a safety net for people dealing with catastrophic situations at a minimum … It should be don’t end it, amend it…
because Obamacare is run by insurance companies and the IRS , nothing to to with patients . Obamacare exacerbates all the previous negative issues with healthcare and makes them worse
What is his plan to “fix te healthcare system?” He is getting ahead of himself by voting to repeal with no solution to offer.
