Mahwah NJ, a Mahwah man already convicted of child pornography distribution has been arrested again on severe new charges. Quinn T. Dickson, 28, of Mahwah, was taken into custody Tuesday after investigators allegedly discovered he possessed thousands of child abuse images.
The arrest follows an intensive investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, highlighting a persistent threat to child safety within the community.
Over 5,000 Images Found in Cyber Crimes Investigation
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, their Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at Dickson’s Mahwah residence as part of an investigation into the use of the internet for child sexual abuse material.
The findings were staggering:
-
New Charge: Second-degree possession of child pornography.
-
Evidence: Investigators determined Dickson allegedly used the internet to view, download, and possess more than 5,000 items “depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.”
Prior Conviction and Tier 2 Status
This is not Dickson’s first brush with the law regarding these types of crimes. He was previously convicted in 2022 of distributing child pornography.
The state sex offender registry currently lists Dickson as a Tier 2 offender due to “repetitive compulsive” behavior. Past media reports detail that his previous case involved communicating with children under the age of 13 using various social media accounts and apps.
Furthermore, Dickson’s initial case was cited as an example in the State Attorney General’s ongoing lawsuit against the social media app Discord, underscoring the severity and digital scope of his alleged activities.
Dickson was taken to the Bergen County Jail where he awaits his first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
