WILL THIS AFFECT HIS AVAILABILTY TO THE RIDGEWOOD POLICE AND WHAT IS INVOLVED WITH HIS NEW POSITION.ALSO IT APPEARS THAT MANY OF THE YOUNGER MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT ARE LOOKING AT POSITIONS IN OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. WHAT DOES THIS SAY ABOUT THE LEADERSHIP IN THE RIDGEWOOD POLICE IF THESE MEMBERS ARE LOOKING TO GET OUT. THIS AUDIT IS LONG OVERDUE AND HOPEFULLY WILL IMPROVE THE DEPARTMENT, IF IT IS DONE CORRECTLY.

>You can’t just blame the chief, he’s only a puppet for JT and the council. He gets his marching orders from above. The lack of leadership appears to ramped throughout the village. Maybe they should stop taking care of a select few that are politically connected, and base rewards or promotions on work performance and demonstrated skills. then we might see some true leadership emerge from the police department and the town.

Much needs to be improved in our Village. If we have crooked politicians or Village Management, then they should go. I havent seen anything to show that. Facts would be helpful, as I am sure the DA’s office would react to facts.

That’s not really much consolation, but if you had any idea just how bad things are in some other NJ municipalities, it would make your head spin. I would guess that the DA has a full plate wading through the more serious allegation of corruption elsewhere.
As for the Police, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Ridgewood is not getting the comparitive level of police service and professionalism that matches its budget and sophistication. It just seems like the police do the bare minimum, while enjoy very comfortable and well paid lifestyles. Get out there and make some waves. Zero tolerance for speeding, excessive noise, illegal parking, and drug dealing.

How would you know what the bare minimim is are you out there at 3 am, or on holidays ? no I dont think so your tucked in bed or with your family. You pay the police for doing thing you dont want to do. And as far as the DA use the right term its Prosecutor. You be safe out there in your 9-5 job and your suv .

Stop making excuses about not working. Your reputation is legendary. Just tell us this. Do you not work because that’s the madnate set forth by the Chief, or do you not work because its your choice? Big difference. If it’s the former, then that’s understandable, but if it’s the latter, then you need to stop stealing taxpayers money and give us value.

Frankly I don’t understand why so many positions have been created over at village hall. Another point was brought to my attention by a neighbor regarding controversies over the police department. He observed that there are many police officers and village employees who do an excellent job. Unfortunately it seems like we have two different police departments, one that works and the other that seems to do the minimum. He has a police scanner and listens regularly. He told me that I could hear the difference, or just go up town and watch a while. One day you’ll see to police out and about doing their jobs and other times you won’t see or hear them at all. While I haven’t gone out and bought a police scanner, I have taken the time to notice that some days I will see a lot more police throughout town. If my neighbor is right and one group is working hard and another is barely working at all, then the village needs to examine why the police management has failed to address those who are not doing their jobs and correct the problem or get rid of the problem. Does anyone know if an audit has been done of the village’s administration?
