SPECIAL TO THE RECORD
The Record

There are good-looking restaurants. There are tony restaurants. And then are simply good restaurants. Lisa’s Mediterranean Kitchen in Ridgewood falls into the last — and most precious — category.

Let me be clear. Lisa’s is not unattractive. Down its Oak Street entry ramp, this restaurant is bright and cheery. Sure, there might be more metallic gold paint than necessary, but Lisa’s dining room offers a pleasant respite from Ridgewood’s main drag. Some of the good feeling in Lisa’s dining room comes from other diners. On each of my visits with friends, I saw large, multi-generational groups enjoying family dinners. While not noisy, Lisa’s dining room offers a comfortable hubbub. If the baby squeals or bangs a spoon, it’s OK; Lisa’s is a great choice for families.

  1. Love, love love Lisa’s. And, for me, an added bonus is that it is owned and operated by a Ridgewood family that gives back to the Ridgewood community. If you haven’t been, you should go there.

  2. Been meaning to try this place. Also good in this category is Rosies in Fairlawn…but I can’t walk there in less than 10 minutes.

  3. I’ve had their food it’s real good and they give you big portions I will eat there again!
