He endorsed Trump a month or so back so Doherty did not need any prodding to get on board the Trump Train. His analysis does not lack for objectivity though. Trump has done the republican party many important services thus far, hopefully gaining office will be another and governing as a conservative a further service.
Trump is doing to the Republican party what Obama did to the Democrat party – basically recast the core beliefs of the party but retain the name… (so much easier than creating a new party from scratch)
Obama recast the Democrat party as the Socialist Party and Trump is recasting the Republican party as the (traditional) Democrat Party.
