Ridgewood NJ, the American diet is facing a potential paradigm shift. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has announced he is preparing to unveil new dietary guidance that directly challenges decades of public health advice by encouraging the consumption of saturated and trans fats.

Kennedy suggests that foods like butter, steak, cheese, and red meat have been “unfairly demonized for decades” and argues that they are essential components of a healthy diet. The new guidance could be released as soon as this month.

The Great Saturated Fat Clash: Current Advice vs. New Proposal

Kennedy’s proposal represents a sharp break from the long-standing medical and scientific consensus regarding fat intake.

Current U.S. Dietary Guidelines RFK Jr.’s Proposed Guidance
Limit saturated fats to less than 10 percent of daily calories. Encourage consumption of saturated fats from dairy, good meat, and fresh meat.
Focus on limiting fat intake to reduce cardiovascular risk. Blame refined carbohydrates and ultraprocessed foods for driving obesity and inflammation.
The American Heart Association recommends saturated fat intake below 6 percent. Promotes a “common sense” approach focusing on whole, unprocessed foods.

Kennedy stated that the new guidelines, which stress the need to eat saturated fats from “dairy, of good meat, of fresh meat and vegetables,” will provide a rationale for driving these changes into American schools.

Challenging Decades of Low-Fat Dogma

For generations, Americans have been told that saturated fats are the primary driver of heart disease and high cholesterol. Kennedy and a growing number of advocates, however, point the finger at the rise of highly processed foods and sugar-laden refined carbohydrates as the true culprits behind the modern epidemics of obesity and chronic inflammation.

By shifting the focus from saturated fat limits to the inclusion of whole, quality foods—like grass-fed beef, full-fat dairy, and fresh vegetables—Kennedy aims to overhaul public health policy and potentially impact everything from school lunch programs to federal food subsidies.

This debate over fat vs. sugar/carbohydrates is one of the most contentious in nutritional science, and the release of these new guidelines is sure to spark a massive national conversation.

  1. Packaged and Processed foods sodas eww.

Ebt crap most Americans consume it on the regular. Out of shape fat lazy people.

  2. The vast bulk of food sold and served by restaurants is vastly overloaded with carbohydrates of every variety.

All of which pass into the bloodstream as, you guessed it, glucose.

It’s been a carb-a-palooza for going on three generations. Good on RFK Jr. for barging into the temple, cracking the whip, and upending Big Carb’s profit-taking tables.
