Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood High School (RHS) hockey player senior Jack Scali has signed a contract to play with the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for the 2025-2026 season. Founded in 1976, the Sherwood Park Crusaders are based in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada where they play in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL).
Jack competed at the national level for two consecutive years, participating in the US Hockey National Tournament and Championship with his club teams, the Long Island Gulls and New Jersey Rockets. This season, he played a pivotal role in guiding the RHS Maroons to their first-ever state sectional championship and a spot in the State Championship tournament – a historic milestone for the program.
Jack’s hockey journey began at the age of six, and through dedication and hard work, he has developed into an exceptional goalie and inspiring leader. This past season, Jack served as Captain of the RHS ice hockey team and was honored with the prestigious Steve Jascot Award, recognizing his commitment, leadership, and positive influence on the team.
“I’m really thankful for this opportunity and to everyone who’s supported me along the way,” said Scali. “There’s still a lot of work ahead, but I’m excited to keep pushing forward and see where this journey takes me.”
As Jack prepares to head to Canada this August to join the Sherwood Park Crusaders, RHS is immensely proud of his achievements and excited to watch him continue to grow and excel in his hockey career. Ridgewood wishes him the best of luck as he embarks on this next chapter.
